What to watch

Manufactured goods, textiles, furniture, electronics and retail products move in dry containers (FCL) or as consolidated cargo (LCL). This is the core of containerised trade and the easiest category to quote online.

Many Gulf markets require conformity certificates (for example SASO for Saudi Arabia, ECAS for the UAE) for regulated products; check before shipment.

LCL costs are charged per cubic metre or tonne (whichever is greater) plus origin and destination handling fees.

Wood packaging must meet ISPM 15 rules.
